The High Level Trigger (HLT) has changed from a shared memory approach for data sharing to a more encapsulated file based data sharing, which removes direct dependencies between the online and offline software frameworks. Accordingly the Storage Manager now has to merge files together to larger files which then will be transferred. This project deals with the issues and summarizes the documentation of the File Merging Service.
